The Colonnade at Kentlands is a distinctive residential community within the Kentlands neighborhood, designed around a series of elevated pedestrian bridges and courtyards that connect buildings and shared spaces. Known for its classical architectural elements, landscaped walkways, and strong sense of community, The Colonnade blends traditional design with walkable, village-style living. Its pedestrian bridges serve as both functional connectors and defining architectural features, reinforcing the neighborhood’s cohesive and timeless character.
Description:
JMJ General Restoration completed a comprehensive restoration of multiple pedestrian bridges at The Colonnade, focusing on structural integrity, longevity, and preservation of the original architectural character. The project included extensive masonry repairs, concrete rehabilitation, and detailed restoration of architectural elements throughout Bridges 100, 200, and 300.
The scope of work consisted of brick masonry restoration, concrete replacement, column cover repairs, lintel replacement, soffit bracing repairs, and installation of new soffit systems. Each bridge was carefully assessed and repaired to address age-related deterioration while maintaining consistency with the original design.
Work was executed in phases to ensure pedestrian safety and minimize disruption to residents. Special attention was given to water management, structural support, and durable material selection to extend the service life of the bridges.
This project highlights JMJ’s expertise in multi-phase restoration, complex structural coordination, and preservation-minded construction within active residential communities.
